Episode 228 – Kirby and the Amazing Mirror

Welcome to Retro Month for The Lost Levels podcast! All throughout the month of August, the podcast crew will take an old Virtual Console title and take an in-depth look at what made each game a classic, or why it was left in the dust to be forgotten. All games we discuss will be available to play on either the 3DS or Wii U eShop!

Today we’re talking all about Kirby and the Amazing Mirror! This Kirby game released for the Game Boy Advance back in 2004, and brings a very unique style to the Kirby series! Similar to Metroid/Castlevania games, you traverse an open world (called the Mirror World in this game), and can go anywhere in any order. There’s lots of new copy abilities for Kirby, lots of bosses for Kirby to take down, and lots of collectibles for Kirby to collect! Each member here today has played the game, and has had a different experience and final opinion about the game! You can consider each member’s opinion to help decide if you want to buy the game on the Wii U eShop!

SpiderStaryu is the Kirby and the Amazing Mirror MASTER, and he’s the host today! He’s joined by the juiciest cast in the history of podcasts; SuperZamezi, Sol, and returning after nearly 2 years… Timmy!

Personally I’m not interesting in these GBA Games on the Wii U eShop, I’m interested in them on the 3DS eShop. I’ve waited to play GBA Games again since the 3DS launched in 2011.

I never really knew Timmy well enough in the past, but it’s nice for Podcast’s PSI Power Youth to be back, first time we see him with the person who took on his position after he retired, being Sol.

Actually, not true! Timmy and Sol have been on the podcast at the same time before numerous times. Podcasts: 100, 106, 110, and 131. So it’s not the first time. 😛

If only I knew Timmy well enough. Sorry for not keeping up to date with the Podcast from when it first started, sorry for not keeping up to date when you did Podcasts 100, 106, 110, and 113. Nice to see him again though.

7:35 I myself am not really after Kirby Games either, but I have got some off the 3DS eShop, being the GB Games. Sooner the GBA Games come to the 3DS eShop sooner I can get my hands on some GBA Kirby Games.
