Episode 242 – Nintendo Wii’s 10 Year Anniversary

Today is November 19 of 2016, and on this day EXACTLY 10 years ago, Nintendo released their fifth home console, the Nintendo Wii. This episode is one giant and extensive retrospective on the life of the Wii, including the years leading up to the release and the system’s legacy. We go over the rumors and promises for the system when it was codenamed the Revolution, we talk about the incredible sales and the Wii craze during the launch, and we go over the big games that hit the system and the legacy they leave behind. SuperZambezi hosts this week as SpiderStaryu and Sol join in on the discussion.

I often wondered why the Xbox 360 and PS3 of the 7th Gen of Gaming are HD Consoles, but the Wii is not, allowing it to miss out on some games that the Xbox 360 and PS3 had, along with some features. Aren’t all 3 of those consoles meant to be 256 bit?
